Why do some people say their different when they're really not?

On their facebooks and at school, the popular girls are like "oh, i'm different, judge me, I dare you." That's total BS because' the so-called 'different' ones are the ones they avoid. people call me 'weird/different' and 'judge me', just because I'm a girl that plays lead guitar, lives off of video games(COD, L4d, Dino-Ddays, etc), Skateboard, and seem to friends with even the most popular and unpopular guys. Some of thegirls that say they're 'different', HATE me for no reason. Bullying me and such. D:
